Privacy Policy

Effective 21 July 2026

1. Who we are

LoadBid is an Australian transport marketplace operated by the operator of LoadBid. In this policy "LoadBid", "we" and "us" mean that operator. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. Information we collect

  • Account details: name, email, phone number, password (hashed) and sign-in provider (Google or email).
  • Customer load details: pickup and drop-off addresses, dates, item descriptions, dimensions, photos, handling notes and dangerous or regulated goods declarations.
  • Carrier profile and verification: business name, trading name, ABN, identity information, insurance documents, accreditation and licence records, vehicle details and service areas.
  • Uploaded files: verification documents, load photos and message attachments, stored in private storage with row-level access controls.
  • Messages and job records: conversations between customers and carriers, offer history and job status changes.
  • Support enquiries: the content of any support or contact form submissions you send us.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed and actions taken, collected via standard server logs.
  • Cookies: essential cookies for authentication and session management, and — where enabled — privacy-conscious analytics cookies used to measure how the marketplace is used. Analytics never receives your name, email, phone number or exact addresses.

3. How we use your information

  • Operate the marketplace — matching loads with carriers and enabling offers, messaging and job records.
  • Verify carrier identity, ABN, insurance and accreditation.
  • Send transactional notifications (offers, messages, job status).
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and unsafe conduct.
  • Improve the service, fix bugs and analyse aggregated usage.
  • Meet legal, tax and safety obligations.

4. What is visible on the marketplace

Public listings only show suburb and state. Precise pickup and drop-off addresses, phone numbers and contact details are only shared with the carrier whose offer you accept. Carrier profiles display business name, service areas, verified badges and published reviews. Reviews are only published after both parties have submitted, or after 14 days, whichever comes first.

5. Who we share information with

  • The other party to a job (once an offer is accepted).
  • Supabase-hosted infrastructure — database, authentication and file storage.
  • Google — where you sign in with Google, Google receives sign-in information; we receive the profile fields you authorise.
  • Transactional email provider used to deliver notifications and receipts you have chosen to receive.
  • Government or law-enforcement agencies where we are legally required to disclose information.
  • Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, auditors) where necessary for our business.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers.

6. International data processing

LoadBid uses cloud-hosted infrastructure. Data is stored in the region configured for the project. Where personal information is disclosed overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle it in a way consistent with the APPs.

7. Security

Access to personal information is controlled by row-level security rules that limit records to the users who should see them. Verification documents are held in private storage with time-limited signed URLs. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at once.

8. How long we keep information

We keep account and job records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax, safety and dispute-resolution obligations (typically at least seven years for financial records). When information is no longer needed we delete or de-identify it.

9. Your rights

You can:

  • Access and correct information held about you from your profile page.
  • Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request deletion of your account and personal information, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
  • Make a privacy complaint (see below).

10. Children

LoadBid is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the site or by email. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.

12. Contact and complaints

For privacy questions, access requests or complaints, email privacy@loadbid.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
