Privacy Policy

Effective 21 July 2026

This page is maintained by the operator of LoadBid. It describes how the platform is currently configured to handle personal information. It is provided for information only and is not legal advice — please have an Australian privacy lawyer review it before you rely on it commercially.

1. Who we are

LoadBid is an Australian transport marketplace. In this policy "LoadBid", "we" and "us" mean the operator of the LoadBid platform. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. Information we collect

  • Account details: name, email, phone number, password (hashed), profile photo, sign-in provider (Google, Apple or email).
  • Customer load details: pickup and drop-off addresses, dates, item descriptions, photos, handling notes and any information you add to a listing.
  • Carrier profile: business name, ABN, insurance documents, vehicle details, service areas and identity verification records.
  • Messages: conversations exchanged between customers and carriers.
  • Payment information: processed by Stripe. LoadBid stores payment references, amounts, statuses and payout records — never full card numbers.
  • Usage data: device, browser, IP address, pages viewed and actions taken, collected via standard server logs and lightweight analytics.
  • Cookies: essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

3. How we use your information

  • Operate the marketplace — matching loads with carriers, processing bids and payments.
  • Verify carrier identity, ABN and insurance.
  • Send transactional notifications (offers, messages, job status updates).
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and unsafe conduct.
  • Improve the service, fix bugs and analyse usage.
  • Meet legal and tax obligations.

4. What is visible on the marketplace

Public listings only show suburb and state — precise pickup and drop-off addresses, phone numbers and contact details are only shared with the carrier whose bid you accept. Carrier profiles display business name, service areas, verified badges and published reviews. Reviews are only published after both parties have submitted, or after 14 days, whichever comes first.

5. Who we share information with

  • The other party to a job (once a bid is accepted).
  • Service providers who help us run the platform, including Supabase (hosting, database, authentication and file storage) and Stripe (payments and payouts).
  • Government or law-enforcement agencies where we are legally required to disclose information.
  • Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, auditors) where necessary for our business.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers.

6. Where data is stored

LoadBid uses Supabase-hosted infrastructure. Data is stored in the region configured for the project. Some service providers (for example Stripe) may store or process data outside Australia. Where personal information is disclosed overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle it in a way consistent with the APPs.

7. Security

Access to personal information is controlled by row-level security rules that limit records to the users who should see them. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Payments are handled through PCI-compliant providers. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at once.

8. How long we keep information

We keep account and job records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax, safety and dispute-resolution obligations (typically at least 7 years for financial records). When information is no longer needed we delete or de-identify it.

9. Your rights

You can:

  • Access and correct information held about you from your profile page.
  • Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request deletion of your account and personal information, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
  • Make a privacy complaint (see below).

10. Children

LoadBid is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the site or by email. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.

12. Contact and complaints

For privacy questions, access requests or complaints, email privacy@loadbid.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
