The process

How freight quotes work on LoadBid

Post your freight, receive carrier quotes, compare your options, choose your carrier.

Step 1

Post your freight

Describe what needs moving, the pickup and delivery suburbs, and when it needs to happen. Posting is free and takes a couple of minutes — no account needed to look around first.

Step 2

Receive carrier quotes

Australian carriers browsing loads on your route can send you a quote with their price, GST treatment and timing. You are never charged to receive quotes.

Step 3

Compare your options

Review each quote side by side along with the carrier's profile, verification status, vehicle type and any reviews they've received.

Step 4

Choose your carrier

Accept the quote that suits you, then message the carrier in-app to confirm access, contacts and handover details. Payment is arranged directly between you.

Interstate freight quotes on popular corridors

Carriers filling a return trip often quote sharper prices on these runs.

Moving between states? See the interstate freight guide. Carriers can also find backloads across Australia.

Getting a useful quote

What carriers need to know before they quote

A transport quote is only as accurate as the description it's based on. Loads posted with dimensions, weight and honest access notes tend to get firmer numbers and fewer revisions later on.

  • Dimensions and weight, or the make and model for vehicles and machinery
  • Pickup and delivery suburbs — exact addresses stay private until you accept
  • Access at both ends: forklift, ramp, tail-lift, crane, tight driveway or steep block
  • Whether the item runs, rolls, or needs to be lifted
  • Date flexibility — a few days of movement can open up backload capacity
  • Photos, which help carriers judge size and condition at a glance
